I have a very colourful history of horrible tans. Throughout my twenties, I constantly looked for the one magical product that was going to give me the golden glow of all the Hollywood actors I aspired to look like. Obviously now that I’m grown, I know that aspiring to look like those lunatics is an unhealthy obsession – but I can’t help wanting to get a little colour on myself from time to time. As of late, I had strayed away from using self tanners – mainly because I had the recent misfortune of reviewing some of my previous spray tans gone bad over the years. I’m a firm believer in making sure that you look and feel confident when moving through your life. Whatever this may mean for you, I say embrace your aspirations to be the best person you can be.

I was recently offered to try out the new Tropic Spa Home Mist Tanning System and I have to say: I had my reservations. I’ve had the orange palms, the crazy elbows and all the other side effects (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, ask anyone who’s ever spray tanned). Coming out of the winter: I knew I needed to do something about my pasty skin. I’m a huge advocate for avoiding sun exposure at all costs, so when the opportunity arose to try this – I took it.

Tropic Spa created this system to be easy to use in the home, and I have to admit… it really is. There’s barely any prep work – and the best part is, this system actually HANGS on my door.

I simply pressed a button, turned in a circle, rubbed it all in, and I was done. After a good night’s rest, I woke up with a natural looking tan that didn’t have the usual 50 shades of orange. I totally recommend giving this piece a try – if you’re looking for a home solution over the summer, and avoid the sun like I do, it’s a must.
