We all know that job market is a competitive place. Hundreds of qualified candidates are often all applying for the exact same position. This raises the question: how are YOU going to stand out?

Personal branding has become an integral part of the application process. No longer is it just your resume that is reviewed when applying for your dream job, employers take into consideration your entire online presence. With privacy virtually out the window, HR teams are usually able to gain access to your pictures, tweets, Facebook, LinkedIn and anything else posted online. All of this is considered when selecting candidates for an open position.

This infographic from Feldman Creative gives a breakdown on achieving the personal brand that will represent the best version of you!

We love the Internet, if only for finds like today’s. A creative guy by the name of Phil Dubost created this AMAZING mock-Amazon.com resume, and published it online. It’s cheeky, it’s fun, and it has a lot of the content employers are looking for in a comfortable and recognizable format. Check out some screen shots below:

This guy has literally thought of everything from highlighting references to outlining skill sets. We do have to wonder why he gave himself 37 one-star ratings, but perhaps that’s just some angry exes?

What do you think of Phil’s resume? Would you hire him?

Over the course of the past few years – so many things have changed in the resume writing process. If you ever took one of those torturous ‘resume writing’ classes in high school, college, or university – chances are that what you’ve been taught has already become obsolete. As of late, there have been some fantastic examples of stand out resumes that really set the bar much higher than it has ever been before. Creativity and innovation will definitely help you stand out in a pile of boring living-obituaries (for lack of a more dramatic term). Remember: we all have to embrace the disruption, and become competitive in new spaces if we want to succeed! Below you’ll find some fresh and inspiring examples of great resumes rearing their heads online.

Writers note: There are some workplaces and jobs where these may not be viewed as an appropriate format. However, if this is how you’d consider your personal brand to be represented on paper, perhaps the job isn’t for you.
