BACKGROUND
Starlight Children’s Foundation Quebec hosted the 10th annual Strangers In The Night Charity Gourmet Gala on Saturday June 14th, 2014 at the Fairview Centre, Pointe-Claire (Parking Area #32). The evening, presented by Delmar International Inc., was a fusion of food and entertainment – headlined by three-time Grammy Award winning musical group The Pointer Sisters.
Proceeds raised went towards Starlight Children’s Foundation Quebec; a charitable organization that brings smiles, laughter and joy back into the lives of children with serious illness or life-altering injury through in-hospital distractive entertainment and out-of-hospital fun family events.
AIM
Our objective was to gain media attention from local and national outlets enhancing the success of the event and in turn, increasing the amount of funds and awareness raised for the Starlight Children’s Foundation Quebec.
HOW
To ensure the success of the event, media and talent management was a focus for EDPR. Through media and celebrity outreach within the Montreal community, we secured an outpouring of support from notable publications, broadcasters and talent. On the day of the event, media relations remained a top priority to ensure all outlets and the foundation were pleased with the coverage gathered.
RESULTS
Over 4,000 charitable attendees helped raise an impressive $700,000 for Starlight Children’s Foundation Quebec. Celebrity supporters included Grammy Award winning musical act The Pointer Sisters, musicians Crystal Waters and Kristina Maria, Actor Benz Antoine, Catherine Verdon-Diamond from BT Montreal, Actress Kalinka Petrie, Actor and Musician Michael Murphy and Actress Jayne Heitmeyer.
Strangers In The Night received over 205.7 million media impressions and was featured in over 90 stories. Media coverage included, Breakfast Television Montreal, The Montreal Gazette, Montreal Families, 92.5 The Beat and many more.
