Some of the most compelling social media metrics lie in the patterns of user engagement, specifically the differentiating factors between adult and adolescent usage. In PR, we consistently refine our messaging in order to ensure that we hit the right targets as we share newsworthy information. Remember, there’s no sense in sharing information with a demographic that has no interest in receiving it.

10th Annual Strangers In The Night Gourmet Gala Raises over $700,000 for Starlight Children’s Foundation Quebec

The event, presented by Delmar International Inc. and honouring Broccolini Construction, was headlined by three time Grammy Award winning musical group, The Pointer Sisters. Other notable performers included Crystal Waters and a surprise appearance by JUNO nominated musician, Kristina Maria.
Highlights of the evening included 75 of Montreal’s top food vendors preparing a range of signature dishes for the massive crowd and a surprise announcement for Starlight Child Daniel, who was granted a trip to Disney World as part of Starlight Québec’s wish program.
Celebrity guests included Grammy award winning musical group The Pointer Sisters, 2013 JUNO nominee Kristina Maria, recording artist Crystal Waters, 19-2’s Benz Antoine, BT Montreal’s Catherine Verdon-Diamond, CHOM 97.7’s Jason Rockman, 92.5 The Beat’s Kim Sullivan and TB1, actors Kalinka Petrie, David Cloutier, Michael Murphy, and Sebastien Roberts along with many other notable Canadians.
“We are so thankful for all of the support we continue to receive from generous sponsors, donors and enthusiastic attendees at Strangers In The Night each year,” said event founder, Larry Day. “It is a great honour to participate in such a momentous evening, that in turn will support an important organization like Starlight Children’s Foundation Québec.”

The money raised from Strangers In The Night 10 will go towards funding Starlight’s in and out-of-hospital programming, which includes Distraction Kits (essentials for unexpected hospital stays), hospital grants (funds for hospitals across the country to use on what kids need most), Fun Centres (portable stations equipped with a dvd player, Nintendo Wii, games and movies), Day Brighteners (tickets to sports games, concerts and more) and wish programs.

Client News: Pants Off Party Raises $80,000 For Prostate Cancer Canada

The evening, presented by Bayer Inc., enforced a mandatory “pant check” at the door and saw many participants clad in hockey-related attire to support this year’s theme, “Protect The 5-Hole”.
“Pants Off for Prostate Cancer helps us raise the profile of a disease affecting 1 in 7 Canadian men” said Rocco Rossi, President and C.E.O., Prostate Cancer Canada. “Greater awareness combined with action are critical because the survival rate for prostate cancer can be over 90% when detected early – that’s why men need to Protect the 5 Hole by getting tested.”
Celebrity guests in attendance included Olympians Kathleen Kauth and Jayna Hefford, JUNO nominated musician Melanie Durrant, TSN’s Gurdeep Ahluwalia, CP24’s Pooja Handa, Canadian Opera Company’s Charlotte Burrage, PROUD FM’s Chris Howson, television personality Mike Chalut and many other notable Canadians.
With over 325 attendees, the evening raised over $80,000 for Prostate Cancer Canada, making this year’s event one of the most successful Pants Off fundraisers to date.
